General Information:
The Cowlitz Indian Tribe (Tribe - CIT) has secured funding through the Recreation and Conservation Office’s (RCO) to hire a contractor to conduct riparian thinning of aging red alder dominated stands, understory brushing and conifer planting. This work supports overall restoration goals of increasing riparian succession rates by thinning alders and replanting conifers to increase riparian diversity. The proposed approach will promote conifer growth to create a future source of large woody inputs while also helping increase climate resilience.
