Schedule: Monday through Friday
Location: Tukwila, WA

Classification: Full Time
Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with ability to accommodate occasional evenings and weekend hours.
Salary Range: $19-22 per hour, DOE
Closing Date: Open until filled

Position Summary:
The Mental Health (MH) Program Coordinator oversees handling of complex administrative tasks to support the Cowlitz Tribal Health Mental Health team. This position provides on-demand support to a team of mental health providers while coordinating logistical and administrative support for longer term projects (monthly, quarterly, annually). This position requires effective management of competing priorities to ensure timely response to provider and program needs. 


  • Coordinate all internal communications, self-generated as well as from the Clinic Director and Clinical Leadership team
  • Work closely with other Program Coordinators on cross departmental coordinating, communications, and special projects or activities to ensure that Cowlitz Tribal Health resources are utilized efficiently and effectively
  • Coordinates purchasing, including, but not limited to office and therapeutic supplies.
  • Coordinates with on-site IT staff to provide support around work-issued electronics
  • Serves as initial point of contact for first day on-boarding of new MH staff
  • Coordinates with pertinent staff on site and at other Cowlitz tribal offices to ensure paperwork and scheduling of New Employee Orientation for new staff is completed in a timely manner
  • Liaises between MH providers and clinic support staff to ensure continuity of care for MH clients
  • Works in conjunction with MH Case Manager to coordinate client resources and services and to anticipate client needs 
  • With the oversight of MH Program Manager coordinate space, including scheduling as needed for mental health groups and one-on-ones, as well as the planning and implementation of workstation moves and/or any repairs to work space
  • Track provider licenses, work with providers to ensure no license lapses, maintain and track MOA's of school district agreements
  • Collaborates with Clinical Leadership to support continuing education needs of MH staff
  • Maintaining up-to-date program materials including schedules, manuals, flyers, presentations, and similar items in response to program and cultural needs
  • Assist with overflow, special projects and day-to-day tasks as needed or assigned by Clinic Director and Clinical Leadership team.

  • High-level proficiency in computer software program related activities such as MS Office Suite and the ability to quickly acquire learning of other applications and software.
  • Well-informed on HIPPA, PHI, and Federal Confidentiality Laws. Maintains discretion and implements appropriate risk management measures.
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively. Take responsibility and initiative to set and meet the goals, objectives and obligations while representing the mission, visions and values of the department.
  • Must be respectful and sensitive to the values and culture of the Cowlitz Tribal Community.
  • Must be caring, empathetic and dependable when working with staff, clients, and community members.


  • BA/BS degree in related field, Social Services, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, OR High school diploma/GED and equivalent experience performing progressively more responsible similar/equivalent work as outlined in job requirements.
  • Experience working in the Native American/Alaska Native community and/or other indigenous communities.
  • Experience working within trauma-informed healthcare setting.



  • Must have valid driver’s license and insurance
  • Must submit to and pass a criminal background check
  • Must submit to and pass drug screen
