The process of establishing a Cowlitz Tribe reservation continues after the recent legal decision by U.S.
District Court Judge Barbara J. Rothstein. The March 14th report in The Columbian that our casino plan
was thrown out by the federal court was misleading and deserves clarification. Our plans for a Cowlitz
reservation, homeland and casino are still intact.

I am asking for tribal member’s assistance in preparation for the development of the Cowlitz Casino. We seek to interview as many elders as we can to integrate important aspects of Cowlitz tradition and values into a system of Core Values and a Customer Service Culture, under the name of “SPIRIT OF TALÍCN”, Pronounced “Taleechn”—Cowlitz for “Helping”.
