Join us and become part of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe team!

When you work for the Cowlitz Indian Tribe (CIT) you will benefit from a competitive compensation package that focuses on spending time outside of work, with family and friends.  The Tribe offers separate sick and vacation accruals, comp-time, 15 paid holidays a year, plus an additional paid cultural day, where you and your family can learn more about the culture and people we are working tirelessly to preserve and uplift.  Many of the medical plans offered to full-time employees of the CIT require no premiums from the employee.  Employees can also expect fair wages with opportunities for increases annually.

Cowlitz Indian Tribe’s organizational mission is to serve the Cowlitz people and its future generations, and as employees, we seek ways to enjoy and engage in working together.

Being an employee for the Cowlitz Indian Tribe is a unique opportunity.  The CIT is a tribal government that seeks to provide and protect its people and resources, leading to careers that are more meaningful and rewarding.  In addition, the tribe works hard to stand out in a competitive job market by offering a robust total compensation package.

The Cowlitz Indian Tribe is a growing force in community building in what are now Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis and parts of Pierce, Skamania, and Wahkiakum counties.  Most employment opportunities are in the following Washington state locations:  Longview, Vancouver, Ridgefield, Dupont, Tukwila, and Toledo.   Cowlitz Indian Tribe currently has approximately 400 employees and countless unique opportunities, from store clerks to restoration ecologists to division directors and everything in between.

It is an exciting time for the CIT! Opportunities continue to become available since the Tribe was Federally recognized in 2000.  Today, an elected Tribal Council is composed of 22 professionals that strive to manage this growing tribal government with outside-of-the-box thinking, encouraging our team leaders to do the same. Various Boards and Committees also make strong efforts to share knowledge and provide valuable insight to programs within the tribe, making the CIT a truly collaborative work environment.

Exciting opportunities are positively impacting applicants, members, employees, natives, the community, and the Tribe’s numerous business and social ventures. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to do something challenging, new, exciting, and rewarding!

About

The legacy of an ancient people in southwest Washington is rich with descendants who manage a growing portfolio of health, education, scientific research, housing, transportation, development, elder care, conservation and legal issues. The Cowlitz Tribe is a growing force in community building in what are now Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis and parts of Pierce, Skamania and Wahkiakum Counties, a vast territory occupied by numerous Cowlitz villages prior to non-Cowlitz exploration and seizure. Today, an elected Tribal Council is composed of professionals adept at managing multiple programs and projects.
