Reports To: Cowlitz Economic Authority (CEA) and Cowlitz Indian Tribe Tribal Council
Position Summary:
The Cowlitz Tribal Gaming Authority (CTGA) is an agency of the Cowlitz Tribal Government, operating separately from other branches but accountable to the Cowlitz Economic Authority (CEA) which reports to Cowlitz Indian Tribe Tribal Council. The CTGA is responsible for overseeing the development, operation, management, and financing of the Tribe’s gaming, entertainment, and related facilities of the (Enterprise). This role plays a critical part in supporting both short-term and long-term sustainability for the Cowlitz Indian Tribe.
All CTGA Board of Trustees appointees must be an enrolled Members of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe in good standing.
Purpose:
The CTGA was established to:
• Develop the Enterprise in a commercially responsible and sustainable manner.
• Ensure centralized management of the Enterprise, maintaining accountability to the Tribe’s governing body while operating separately from other government branches.
• Uphold the provisions of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act and the Cowlitz Tribal Gaming Ordinance.
• Generate surplus revenue to benefit the Cowlitz Indian Tribe.
• Negotiate and establish agreements with state, local governments, and private entities in support of the Enterprise.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The (4) CTGA Board of Trustees, in collaboration with the Enterprise’s Management Partner and Leadership Team is responsible for:
• Providing oversight of Enterprise to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
• Collaborating with our Managing Partner, Leadership Team, and Consultants assessing and analyzing business opportunities that enhance Enterprise.
• Participating in board meetings focused on operations, strategic planning, budgeting, and reviewing policies, procedures, and development initiatives, including construction, management, promotion, and financing.
• Delivering updates and business recommendations to the Cowlitz Economic Authority (CEA) and Cowlitz Indian Tribe Tribal Council.
Commitment:
The CTGA Board of Trustees meets biweekly (currently every other Thursday) with our Managing Partner and Leadership Team. The CTGA Board of Trustees may have additional meetings to collaborate on development projects, financing needs, and other special initiatives.
Cowlitz Tribal Gaming Authority of Trustees:

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, and other related fields or the ability to show progressive work experience.
• Knowledge of management principles, policy development, and organizational oversight.
• Experience working with tribal governments, sovereign nations, and managing partners.
• Knowledge of Washington State gaming compacts and regulatory frameworks.
